近年來,我在香港的Gallery by the Harbour與Snoopy和Hello Kitty合作。

I paint vivid stories woven with blooming flowers and singing birds. In my works, birds often wear blossoming flowers like crowns, their bodies adorned with intricate patterns, as if celebrating their own beauty. Each bird is like a storyteller, inviting viewers into a world filled with quiet elegance and vibrant imagination. My style is rooted in the tradition of classical Japanese painting, while also influenced by my background in design. This fusion produces kachō-e (bird-and-flower paintings) that are both traditional and lighthearted, filled with vibrant colors and dynamic compositions that seem to dance across the canvas. Japan has long embraced Chinese culture, transforming it into something uniquely its own. Similarly, the graphic design I studied is rooted in Western aesthetics, particularly Germany’s Bauhaus movement. My artwork emerges from this natural layering of East and West, past and present, presenting a tapestry of cultural harmony.
Years ago, as the internet began connecting the world more closely, I encountered a phrase that has stayed with me: “The world is becoming gray, like mixed paints blending into a single tone.” This referred to how global cities, fashion, and cuisine are increasingly becoming homogenized. But I believe that fusion doesn’t have to mean dullness—it can mean balance, or it can mean beauty.
There is no better place than Hong Kong to explore this idea—a city where East and West coexist, creating stunning contrasts and harmony, where colonial elegance meets contemporary vitality. I find tremendous inspiration in Hong Kong’s multicultural kaleidoscope and its dazzling spirit. Through this exhibition, I hope viewers can rediscover the joy of diversity—where birds and flowers shine in gold, and cultural fusion becomes a celebration rather than a compromise.
I studied graphic design in my twenties and worked as a designer. This was my entry point into various art forms, where I was strongly influenced by classical Japanese paintings from the early 13th century and late 18th century, and began painting. I still vividly remember being captivated by their spatial compositions and the flourishing world of kachō-ga (bird-and-flower paintings). I want to renew the world of kachō-ga and create a new Japanese aesthetic.
In recent years, I have collaborated with Snoopy and Hello Kitty at Gallery by the Harbour in Hong Kong. My work has just been acquired by the Mucha Foundation in the Czech Republic, which manages the works of Alphonse Mucha.
